Gaela Erwin

2008 Pajama Party Artist Donor

Gaela Erwin is a Louisville-based artist whose work delves into the complexities of the human condition and spirituality through portrait painting. A solo exhibition entitled Facing the Subject was displayed at the Speed Art Museum from February to June 2006. She continues to develop her unique style as she has recently begun a series of portraits working in pastel.

Above, the artist is posed in the attire of one of her self-portraits, photographed in her studio by Elena Dorfman. Featured to the right is Self-portrait as the Mystic Marriage of St Catherine (detail) from the Speed Museum exhibition.

Gaella Erwin's contribution to the Pajama Party is a portrait painting of the donor who purchases this table. The Erwin table is priced at $10,000.21. Reservations can be made by contacting Christy Bramble at cbramble@21chotels.com or by calling 502.582.5000.
